Signage Barricades

Signage Barricades

Halt crowds and direct traffic with impactful signage barricades

Managing large gatherings of people can be stressful and labor-intensive – unless you’ve placed traffic barricades, event fences, and crowd barriers throughout your event. A necessity for any large celebration or concert, signage barricades come in a wide selection of colors, shapes, length and types. Image360 Shrewsbury can design custom solutions that will facilitate pedestrian mobility, ease vehicle traffic, and restrict people from entering forbidden areas.

Looking to personalize your plastic barricades with the logo or brand of your business? Image360 Shrewsbury has you covered. We can also individualize key attributes of your crowd-control signage down to color, material, and personalized messaging.

Discover the many ways you can implement signage barricades into your organization’s traffic management strategy below.

What are barricades used for?

  • Grand openings
  • Tent sales
  • Sporting events
  • Concerts
  • Petting zoos
  • Parades
  • Political rallies
  • Demonstrations
  • Outdoor festivals

How can barricades be used to improve my event?

  • Attendees will often act unruly from the outset of the event, maybe from a tailgate or a celebration prior to the public gathering. A good way to set a precedent for orderliness is to have a queue line blocked off with event fences. This will force people to arrange themselves into a single-file line, rather than a large mob. The unlikeliness of trampling is not to be taken for granted.
  • At any event, you’ll likely have a designated section for VIPs. This may include players, performers, or patrons who have purchased a more expensive package. Exclusive areas will likely be highly sought after, or close to the stage where performers will be entertaining the crowd.

As a result, many event goers will be packed tightly against this area. An ideal buffer to protect attendees on both sides is a series of custom metal barricades. While metal barricades serve as a sturdy barrier to a disorderly mob, they also deliver an implied message of restriction few would challenge.

  • Barricades can also block off entire roads to enable a steady flow of pedestrian traffic. Employ several of them, and make sure they have reflective panels for maximum visibility, day and night.

Which kind of barricade should I use?

  • Type I Barricades

This version of barricade has only one reflective rail, hence the name. The rail is colored orange and white, sitting atop an A-frame design. Type I barricades are more suited for pedestrian traffic and low-speed roads.

  • Type II Barricades

Type II barricades have two reflective rails stretching across the top and middle of an A-frame. They are more easily perceived at night than Type I barricades, even though they are typically the same size. We suggest you use Type II barricades for the expressways or higher speed roads that lead up to your event.

  • Type III Barricades

These barricades have, as you might expect, four reflective panels. Type III barricades are usually bigger in size – four feet wide (or larger) to be exact – and have a different frame design accordingly. Though they’re less portable, due in large part to their wider frame, Type III barricades are one of the most popular signage options. Take advantage of their visibility to shut down roadways and provide detours for vehicle traffic.

  • Traffic Barrels

Traffic Barrels (also referred to as channelizer drums) are a simple way to direct traffic at all speeds. With a solid rubber base, they can withstand strong winds and vehicle collisions. These posts are effective for traffic merges and lanes designation on rural roads.
